The Recipe for Business Growth

Recipe for Restaurant GrowthAsk 10 business owners, "what is the right recipe for growth" and you're likely to get close to 10 different answers. Everyone has their strategy, the one they believe will make their brand grow, but who's right?

That may be an impossible question to answer, but at RSS we do believe there are some core ingredients and we've identified at least two in Chris Fuqua's strategy. Chris is the CEO of B.GOOD and previously held several different positions at Dunkin. In a recent article in QSR Magazine Chris discussed his strategy. I want to high light two that I think are particularly worth considering.

Simplified Menuboards

B.GOOD's strategy to simplify their menu boards is driven by a desire to help their customer understand "where they should start and what they should try." The idea is that with a simplified menu board, the customer has a less confusing and therefore more positive experience and the speed of service improves. Both of these results should increase sales and margins. If you are trying to include every option available to the customer you are likely creating confusion for your customers and employees while slowing down your sales funnel and eroding your margin. A good menu board should easily inform and guide your patrons to a decision that they will be thrilled with.

Embrace Third-Party Delivery

Fuqua says, "I think with third-party, the reality is customers are rapidly changing the way they interact with brand and the way they eat. ...people want—this generation especially—wants what they want, when they want it, where they want it. And I think restaurants are going to have to embrace the idea that they’re going to have to get their food to people instead of always relying on people to come to them.” To do this restaurants are going to have to embrace third-party delivery.

Worldpay Heritage Migration

For the past several months Worldpay has been actively migrating Worldpay Heritage customers to their new platform. During their 2018 Q4 Earnings Call last February they announced plans to complete that migration by the end of Q2 2019.
